Le Banyan Tree Bangkok
Tuesday, March 13, 2012

It was easy enough navigating around the airport trying to find the 'Public Taxi' stand. We avoided all the touts holding up signs and shouting, 'Taxi, Sir?', headed straight down to road level and got on a cab quick enough.

As the cab neared the city centre, high rise buildings started looming ahead. Spotted the Banyan Tree and what a beauty she was. Remembered squeezing each other hands and grinning at the boyfie in excitement.

Checked in at the front desk and they immediately ushered us personally to the club lounge as we stayed in a club room.

Got served a lemongrass drink in champagne flutes. Here's the guy with the keys to our room!

Got bowled over by how perfect our room was. They thought of everything.

We found fragrance oil AND incense sticks. Immediately lit them up.

And they have a 'Today's Scent', so the scent changes daily. Really loved the sandalwood scent on one of the days. My peejays that i brought there still smell of our hotel room. And i refuse to launder it YET 'cause it reminds so much of bkk and the precious memories.

Local fruit basket

Table if you're here on a business trip.

And a lounger..haha my boyfriend the model!

And my favourite part of all hotel rooms. I actually judge hotel rooms based on their bathroom. Banyan had twin granite sinks. B and I had a great time brushing our teeth together, and more than enough space to spread out our toiletries.

A tub with a view! We stayed on the side of banyan tree with the city view and it blew me away.

Bath foam, bath oil, bath salt, body lotion, glycerin soup bar.

And the hugest and thickest towel I've ever seen. I'm not that tall, but they were longer than i am.

The separate rain shower.

The closet was in the bathroom as well. And we had matching robes.

His and hers toiletries bag.

I took such a long time photographing the toilet, I came out and saw the boyfie doing this. Hurhur.

The hotel experience really spoilt the both of us. I'm sure we're both converted hotel snobs now. It did cost us a hefty $200 per night. But really, nothing beats coming back from dusty humid bangkok to such a perfect rest place.
