okay it's time to blog about the trip to sydney before i get all lazy-bummy..

so first thoughts of heading to sydney was that it's a city place just like singapore i wasn't that excited. sure it didn't get me all gawky-eyed and gape-mouthed like exotic japan and nepal. but it turned out to be quite good fun and awesome shopping.

headed out to the airport on day -1 evening for our flight to sydney..yay family pic!

shout-out to mel and titus: THE YKK ZIP AD!!

some mickey mouse thing going on in the airport. this was after check-in. the sign above the swing says 'weight limit 100kg'. well we were a few kilos short of the limit but i was so sure it wasn't gonna support me and my sis! jumped right up the moment my mum finished taking this photo.

so as usual we were busy shopping around in duty-free when suddenly my sis spied the tv screens showing the flight info stuff and beside our flight number it kept flashing in red GATES CLOSING. omg mad rush to the boarding gates!

and here's the main reason for our holiday destination. AIRBUS A380. haha...according to my mum that is. since she booked the trip so suddenly. it looks nicer in the photo than it was anyways. economy was still pretty squeezy but the krisworld screen was huge! i like!

here's testing out our new family cam. well the old panasonic died just on the last day of the trip. i'm horribly sad coz that cam took nice pictures!

and there's ice cream for dessert!

i couldn't sleep the entire night! slept a miserable 20mins before the lights pinged on and i just couldn't get back to sleep. here's when me and my mum were exploring the plane. went up to the deck on the second floor! ooh and i took off my sandals and padded around the plane in the socks provided. so much more snuggy and comfy..only thing to watch out for is wet toilet floors!

so since i couldn't get back to sleep with the lights on. i went to the toilet to put on sunblock and makeup. thing was there was a super long queue so i didn't want to let ppl who really wanted to pee wait forever. so i did it right outside the toilet where there was a small mirror. this australian guy later came up to my seat, tapped me on the shoulder, shook my hand and said, 'i watched your little beauty routine going on back there..welcome to australia!' haha..wanted to just disappear beneath my seat or something.

awhile later this steward came up to the row my family was sitting and gave me this! omgoodness a birthday cake!! haha coz we flew on my birthday!

so sweet of them! okay please don't mind the eyebags. 20 mins of sleep only rem!?

well it was some mousse cake thing and we couldn't finish it. and as you know no food items are allowed into australia. so i had to bin it....

our first step out of the airport had me thinking. why is summer still sooo cold??!! the sun was shining and all, but it was still cold, especially when there was wind!

first stop was bondi beach. we're all grabbing our skirts here because the wind was so strong! it kept whipping sand against our legs..damm painful!

and hugest waves i've ever seen. but according to the driver, it was just nice-sized waves.

the sand was lovely. very soft and very fine. and can i just say that i'm the queen of adverse reactions. look what NSAID patches did to my feet. i think i was allergic to the adhesive and the skin turned very very red and it itched like sooo much!

bikini and beach hunk alert! we were wearing jackets and all. but looked what the aussies were wearing.

in front of the beach patrol place. spy the nepal hats...

my eyes are closed! and i'm rummaging in my bag for my manual black&white cam. but the bridge still looks really quaint and nice! oh and i haven't finished the film gosh........

here's naomi watts house near the beach! really really see-through for a movie star..

our compulsory bus picture. this actually accompanies pictures of the parents sleeping. but my laptop is going to be confiscated and the internet service cut off for good if i post those up.

next up was the sydney aquarium at darling harbour. bernice! spot the metro guy! haha there was this younger super metrosexual guy in our tourgroup.

the entrance

real alligator or croc..

yay dragon seahorse swimming to look at me...haha..

my favourites...the darling happy feets...

and the luminiscent jellyfish...i could stare at them for hours..

next up was the sharks!

we had to go through this tunnel in the middle of their tank. there were soo many sharks!

i was fiddling with my cam and accidentally turned the flash on. and i ended up with this horrifying picture. euyew just look at those teeth...

and then the floors became glass-lined too.

was a pretty weird feeling. having them little fishies swimming beneath you...

finally! some touch pool thing...

i touched a tiny blue one! it felt like rock....

and then the bus whisked us off to chinatown for lunch. i keep closing my eyes ugh!

have no idea why there's always chinese food. who goes to another country to have chinese food! lunching with strangers at a round table is always awkward the first time. but this was broken by this old man who was part of a couple. he poured tea for all of us. and when i thanked him. he said, 'don't tell me thank you...pay me $50!' wth!!! haha..funny old man..

after lunch we got whisked to the sydney tower..have no idea how high this thing is coz i was dozing off like any in the bus..

we had to take a lift to the top floor to see aerial views of sydney. it was similar to the one we went back in japan at the sunshine city. so bernice and i walked one round and just sat at the window edge coz we were dozing off everywhere.

yay same sandals..the studs on mine are dropping off like any...

here's the lift that brought us to the top. we then descended to take some 3D motion ride called oztrek. bernice said the aussie gals beside her were screaming. we just kept on dozing...

then it was out into the sunshine to explore the departmental store nearby...it had wonderful window displays. just like those at harrods in london..

and what it looked like indoors..pretty much your average departmental store...

there were two departmental stores down in george st, the orchard rd of sydney. there was David Jones and MYERS.

bee at the versace store

then we were brought to macquarie's quay...

where sir macquarie was sent over to aussie to be in charge of a prison here. his wife missed home so much, she sat by the quay to look on yonder so sir macquarie ordered a chair to be carved out of the soft rocks for his wife. was expecting some wonder like taj mahal...but instead here it is..we weren't even sure whether we got the right chair.

and then it was across the harbour to sydney opera house.

did you know that the roof of the opera house isn't all smooth. there were patterns when you went closer...

went back to chinatown for dinner and had something like 30mins to shop at the factory outlet stores there..

and at last they decided to let us back to the hotel after our dinner. the hotel room looked pretty nice!

here's us exhausted and weary...

view from our room. at 7plus in the evening, the sun's still going strong...

we took a walk around the neighbourhood. there was a hungry jack's whose menu looked like BK's. their logo looks even more suspiciously like burger king's....

and here in singapore..we call macdonalds Macs..while in aussie it's known as Maccas. and this outlet had chandaliers in their restaurant.

we settled for some gelato ice cream...

and on a different route back to the hotel, we discovered a supermarket! wheee! bought some aussie titbits and headed back for much needed rest..

think i just breezed through the last part coz my eyes are hardly opened now.. i didn't know blogging took so much effort...okay night!
