so today was the national band competition. it's kind of funny how tj manged to sweep the first prize spot away. wasn't really expecting to win. lots of mixed feeling pouring in today. not only cause of the music. but cause of certain people.
took lots and lots of photos so i'm just gonna let the photos do the talking. but please watch out for the terrifying nerdy me. in tj uniform no less. don't ask why! i was rioting AGAINST it.

shijia whom i've alot to thank for. being the organised other to my super unorganised life. wouldn't have survived and enjoyed all the band practs without you. apologies for having always to drag me home after band practs. it's been good having somebody to depend on.

the band indeed has held many special memories for me. to think the primal reason i joined the band in sec 1 was to play the flute. i was actually choosing between netball and band. but when i missed the round 2 netball selections because the senior in charge didn't inform those in my class who were selected, i decided to join band. again in jc, i vowed never to return to the band and this time joined netball. but beth and shijia dragged me back for a practice and i fell in love with the magic of playing in a band, creating music.
i really miss the times we had practising together. having lunch together. going to a foreign land, bangkok to be exact, together. sharing our first alcoholic drink. laughing and running away from each other. crashing people's room. talking in the dark 'til we fell asleep.
i'm glad i chose tj instead of vj. i'm glad tj band has an active alumni. and for the first time, i have to declare, i'm glad i joined the band.
